What is the difference between 80/20 acoustic guitar strings and phosphor acoustic guitar strings?

Thanks,

Different types of bronze in the wrap on the wound strings, which changes the sound.

I prefer phosphor bronze, to my ears it's a fuller, richer sound - plenty of bass on the wound strings but without losing clarity and crispness. It's a more "piano-like" sound. Deep, rich, and bright.

The 80/20 bronze strings have a more "flat" response, a generally brighter sounds with less bass response but more upper mid "cut" and bite.

Which strings to use depends on your taste and perhaps your guitar too. Some guitars might sound too boomy and bassy with phosphor bronze but other guitars might be lacking in body or sound too middy or bright with 80/20s.

There is only one way to know - trust your own ears! Try 'em out and see. Personally, I'd buy a set of each and try each set out over three or four days.
