We just purchased (ME and My Son) our very first Sterling 4 in a beautiful creamy White! I love this finish with the white pearloid pickguard. I might actually buy a Tortoise Shell pickguard for that classic look, but I really like the pearl.

I was a little surprised to see how the finish looked more like a Vintage White than a bright White. Can someone tell me the difference between the EBMM White and the Limited Edition Buttercream? I mean I have always wanted a Buttercream, but this Sterling looks very creamy to me.

I can see the difference between Mark's '76 SR and the 05 Buttercream. I still think my brand new Sterling is creamier than Mark's '76. Maybe it's just my eyes, but I would like some other opinions.

It is now...give it 30 years.:D...

Obviously, there is a difference between Buttercream and Mark's 76. Mark's is an extreme example of what happens to white over time.

The pic with the White next to the Buttercream shows the difference.

That's a beautiful Sterling.

I agree; I was under the impression that the buttercream had more of a yellow tinge to it than the white. White will probably age into buttercream.

The Buttercream instruments also say "Limited Edition 2005" on the back near the neck plate.
