I use the jazz III ultex. I really want to try some of those Dava picks out though. How do they feel different from other picks those of you who have tried them? They seem pretty unique.

Dunlop Jazz III's (black stiffo, they sound a bit fuller/fatter than the red nylon version). I use XL's live, especially if the gig requires lots of rhythm playing. Dunlop Tortex 0.73mm for acoustic.

I would like to try some Red Bears, but I can't get them locally.

Dunlop Yellow Ultex Jazz III is what I use. Tried a few others, but, this one best suits me.

I really like the ol' red Jazz III. Definitely tightens up the picking motion, and for me, it helped to correct some bad pick-holding mechanics. My only problem with it is that during real heavy rythm playing I find that with the Jazz III being so small, I tend to strike my index finger finger nail on the strings. The black Petrucci one is a little bigger and I don't have that issue, and its my current all-around favorite. For general chording and strumming, I also like the white Ibanez 1mm rubber grip pick (now sold as a Vai signature, I believe) - not as bright, but still smallish and fast.
