DR Hi-Beams. I switched from Hybrid Slinkys awhile ago, and they lack alittle of the Balls thump and brightness, but they last alot longer.

Yes, I use Rotosound Swing Bass 66N, Nickel on my SR5s and they're fine. I tried TI Flats on the stock SR5 and although the B was truly amazing, a bit like playing a curtain rod, I didn't get on with them. Maybe it's my style but I prefer a bit of friction between my finger and the string and with the TIs it wasn't there. My preEB came with Elixir Nanowebs and sounds fantastic. I don't use it too much so I guess it'll be some time before I have to change them.

Fodera Diamond Series. I've had a set of these on for about two weeks now, and I love them.

Oldblue,
Do you find the Rotosounds sound great for few weeks and then die and get flat quickly? I string my Rickenbacker with them and it seems that they get flat quick. What's your take?

One of my old favorites used to be the Diadario slow wounds. They have a really smoot even sound (no area overly focused) and last quite a while but they're harder to find now. Now I just use cheap ole slinkys

I've not found that but then again I suppose that it's all down to how long you expect them to last. As a matter of routine I change them about every 3 months. I switched from Rotosound to Elites for a while last year but they were just aweful and went off in about 2 weeks. My main bass is the blue burst SR5 and the current set has been on there since end of March and still sound good, bright and punchy.
