I've had my first EBMM Axis now for 1 week. Now that I'm hooked, I am thinking of getting a second... I'm thinking either another Axis, AL (MM90), Silo, SM or a Luke. Though since I've only played my Axis, what would you recommend?

What kind of music do you play? It all depends on what you want to do with the new guitar. If you want variety I would say AL MM90 or Silo Special, since you've got your humbucking tones covered. Ah well, what do I know, I have almost all those guitars in one form or another. They're all great! (but I have 2 AL's, and am really enjoying my AL MM90 at the moment, so...).

I play anything that can be considered rock. VH, Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent, Stevie Ray, etc... I think that I'm looking for something to give me a nice crunchy blues tone. I like the compact feel of the Axis, and I love how low the action can be set. I have seen Axis Sport models with MM90's and a rosewood fret board. I also know that I want a Floyd Rose trem.

Hi Mark,

Hey, you made it a whole week! haha

Since you're a Floyd Rose guy, how about a Steve morse Y2D? That's a great classic rock machine, and it is available with a Floyd.

The axis/ EVH is one hard guitar to top.I don't know, maybe the axis should soak in awhile and you will know naturally what your next step is, a guitar is a very personal decision, but you'l get some great advice here!

Luke 3 is very hard to beat. It's a rock machine when you want it to be and the HSS delivers great single coil tones. I'd consider that a very sensible stable mate to your Axis.

Why not an Axis Super Sport? The MM90 version has an Ash Body with a maple cap... Same neck, same feel just a different tonal option since he already loves his Axis.

I would also say an HHAL... Same pickups different wood and a monster tone to compliment the Axis.

Really you can't go wrong with any of the choices EBMM offers. However as an axis lover you may find it a little awkward on a JP at first because of the neck profile but that goes away.

If you were near me, I'd invite you to try my Al SSS, Axis SS MM90 and sub 1 that's really a silhouette special with the pickup changes and silent circuit. Any fellow ballers around you? Or a "good" guitar shop that stocks Music Man? (I'm lucky to be an hour and a half from DuBaldo's)

I like the AL MM90 variety myself. Great crunch when driven and cleans up very nicely!
It'd definitely fill lots of voids. Liked mine so much I immediately ordered a second.

There are 2 GC's, 1 Sam Ash and several small shops around. All sell the EBMM's but none have a stock that I can go play. I do like the thought of an alder or ash body with the maple top, and rosewood fret board. I guess there alot like Doritos, you can't stop at just one...

Then the MM90 Super Sport or the BFR AL are the way to go... Though the AL doesn't have a rosewood Fretbored option.
