1/16"

Edit: you're in metric... so 1.5875 mm

Thanks nicjimbass, we are definately talking about the size of the small allen wrench needed to raise the individual saddles on a bridge, right?

I usually go get my allen wrenches, pick out a few that look close in size for the job, try a few of them and when one fits I finish my job. Hell I wouldn't be able to see what size they were if it were written on them anyway. This is not that hard to do Wazoo.

Yeah, Chuck, except for that in the part of the world where we are, allen wrenches are metric, the 1.5 mm being too small and the 2.0 obviously not fitting.
That said, one of my allen wrench sets has a 1/16" and then 0.05", weird...

Thanks Psycho, I am not the mechanical type I don't keep many tools.

The saying goes: tools good... being a tool bad :D
Can never have too many allens are good to have around in both standard and metric. Careful, Wazoo, with the bridge adjustments, I have found that they, more often than not, lead to other issues. Anyway, good luck with it.

I found a multi tool years ago that someone had left on stage. It has every allen wrench and screwdriver you will ever need to work on a bass. It is called the Roadie Rench made by Blackstar Designs out of San Dimas Calif. I don't know if they are still being made but I highly recommend it!

pffft, where chuck and I are we have to have 2 sets of everything because we can't make up our bloody minds about standardizing measurement systems. What's more fun, we have waste time and sanity guessing which system is being used to begin with. :D

GW, not being a mechanical type is no excuse. Plenty easy to get a multi-tool geared towards guitars or an inexpensive set of Standard size allen wrenches. Musician's Friend has a couple, like this and this. I'm sure shops carry something similar in the UK.

If you want to split hairs:

wrench |ren ch | - noun - a tool used for gripping and turning nuts, bolts, pipes, etc.

key |kē| - noun ( pl. keys ) - an instrument for grasping and turning a screw, peg, or nut, esp. one for winding a clock or turning a valve.

potatoe, potato. :p

key |kē| - noun ( pl. keys ) - Music - a group of notes based on a particular note and comprising a scale, regarded as forming the tonal basis of a piece or passage of music : the key of E minor.

Never heard any songs in the key of Allen.

:D

Yep. I grabbed one and tried it on my SR5 when you asked. I got to thinking about it, it is 1/16", and there's not going to be a true metric equivilent... 1.5mm is as close as it'll get, but that's too small. Being that it's an American bass, it'll accept English measurements, not metric. I know over here, you can get both very easily... not sure how things are over there... probably just metric, I assume.
