Title says it all.

Guitar is tuned one whole step down.

And it feels very weird.
I`m currently using Ernie ball 10/56,and low B(A) string is extremely flabby.
I hear that people saying on various forums that these schaller tuning pegs do not let higher string gauge to pass through.

What is maximum gauge that I can use for 7th string on JP7?

E(D) is also little bit on flabbier side but not too much. But first two strings has the opposite problem.
So only G(F),D(C),A(G) string feels normal.

The previous guitar I own was Schecter Hellraiser C7 FR and 26.5 scale and 10/60 hold the A very goodand feels right when playing.

To me it looks like JP7 is struggling a little bit for this task.

Feel free to give me any valuable opinion or suggestion.

I`m kind a lost here.

Best regards.

JP uses 10-56 for tuning down a whole step on 7 string. Ernie Ball 7 string Regular Slinky. If you have a heavy pick technique, try a set of the EB 7 string Power Slinky's. One size up(11-58).

Oh that not seems so good idea,I pick normal nor light nor heavy. On 11/58 I couldn`t even band notes on higher strings.
The problem is there is no 10/58.

What about 60 on 7th string, can it go through tuning peg?

The problem will likely be that if you go that thick the nut slot will be too tight.

Search through some old posts here and you'll find some info. (tip: try adding "site:ernieball.com" to the end of your search terms, works in most search engines).

Some say a 0.059 and 0.060 WILL got through but it's not easy. 0.058 should be fine.

.68 goes through. You gotta work it, but you don't need to file anything. Fits it the but as well.

I use a 62 on my 7 for a low A and it feels just right. I tried a 64 but it felt like cable wire and made my picking arm tired.
I've heard some pretty famous metal bands use 10-56 for drop G on the jp7. I guess it's really all down to taste.
