Was wondering what are the tone differences in a Axis Super Sport than a regular Axis.

I see it has a 5 way switch, it is strat like/tele like with the 5 way selector?

Cheers,

Tobin

As above, positions 2 and 4 provide 2 single coil voicings. The inner coils in parallel provides a straty type of quack tone, The outer coils don't really quack but give a more tele like tone without the jangle.

Also be aware the Axis has a Floyd bridge, whereas the Supersport has trhe Vintage bridge. I think the VIntage bridge is brillaint and don't really care for Floyds, but there will be a tonal differance. Most people seem to think the Axis is more agressive sounding than the Supersport.

The ASS really is a great axe, the tones are so versatile. Most people are surprised at the quality of the single coil sounds on offer.

I was definitely surprised. I was shocked, actually. It's a fantastic axe. IMHO, much more versatile than a regular Axis.
