What's in your musical rotation these days? I know this is a topic that comes up every 2-3 months, but I love hearing the answers since it opens my eyes (or ears) to new bands/artists....

So, what are you listening to?

I just can't get past Andy Timmons' Resolution CD and DVD. The playing and tone just strike a "chord" with me. This is the tone I hear in my minds "ear."

His tone is definitely magical.

I wish I had more to add to this thread! I'm on the lookout (or listenout... haha) for some more new music. I've been listening to a little Joe Stump, but he seems to be too much shred and not enough feeling for my tastes...

FYI: If you want to hear new artists then check out Pandora Radio - www.pandora.com - and create a station for whatever music you are into. It's pretty astounding how similar the artists it groups together actually are. The technology that controls how it selects songs to play is called the Genome Project (Apple calls it the 'Genius Playlist')... I created a Joe Satriani station and I love every song it plays!

Dream Theater mostly. The CDs that have stayed with me since their launch have been Scenes from a Memory and Train of Thought. Others I've grown tired of their repetitive format (the last 2) or the aged sound (the first 3).

But besides that, I've recently discovered a pair of songs from Avenged Sevenfold (thanks to Rock Band 2) that I like. I cannot stand a whole CD from them, though.

Two young and fresh "speed-rock" bands:

- "Safety First Gonzales" from Minden / Germany. Current Album is BITCHES LIKE US and these guys just plain rawk and go for it. One of my faves is their version of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues... Just an awesome combo.

- ""New Disaster" from Austin / Texas. Current album is LAST NIGHT RITES and I have seen this powerhouse combo live last fall here in Germany together with the above SFG. Fawking awesome power-/speedrock, and guess what - their bass playa Mark Johnson is an EBMM endorser ;-)

Both bands have their own MySpace pages - feel free to visit...

Speedrock baby ! :D

To add to your comment, if anyone is looking for new music from unsigned/indie/undiscovered bands, check out www.ourstage.com I stream it to my iphone and my desktop once in a while. The rotation is pretty good and you get to hear some really good music that you never knew existed.

So far this week I'm listening to:

Duncan Sheik - White Limousine
Jesus Jones - London
Toad The Wet Sprocket - Bread and Circus
King's X - Ear Candy
