Just curious to know what type of guitar was your first guitar? Where is it now? What turned you onto EBMM guitars? I'll go first.
Technically my very first guitar was an ibanez RG model alongside a line 6 spider amp. Took it home without even playing it. All I knew at that point was I was already 22 years old and hadn't even started to play guitar yet. John Petrucci was and still is my idol for many reasons but, primarily, for his abilities on the guitar. By the time John was my age he was already in studio recording albums. It was a now or never type of deal. Now, knowing that I idolized John naturally my dream guitar became the JP6. More specifically in the Mystic Dream finish. At the time there was no way I could afford one so I got what I thought at the time would be the next best thing and, like John, I would start out with an ibanez guitar(I realize now that John didn't start off with ibanez and that it was just basically his first endorser.) so in my mind it was a win. But boy, was I wrong. There was a lot wrong with the guitar: Dead frets, buzzing what have you. What made it even worse was it had some cheap Floyd rose type of tremolo on it and I had no KNOWLEGE what-so-ever on how to tune one. I still don't to this day and from my understanding theyre not the easiest things to deal with. Anyway, needless to say I got absolutely frustrated and discouraged. Two days later I was back at guitar center returning both the amp and guitar all while paying about 350 dollars in restocking fees.
At that moment I decided that if I was going to buy a guitar I would just buckle down and save for a JP6 and so, I did just that. But by the time I had enough for it the JPX had just come out and decided to go with that one. I can't tell you how happy I am with it. For the first few months the only amp I had for it was a little 2 watt Roland micro cube but let me tell ya. I was in heaven!
I've rambled long enough but I feel I've answered all three questions. I apologize for any typos. Thanks for reading. Please share your story!
