ok if you go to my winning auction and type in zip code 61704 you will see i paid 36 bucks for gauranteed 4 days from ups. well 3 days after the auction i get a tracking number from them and its from fedex and wont get here till the 31st. thats 5 days and no telling what it cost them. what should i do. first i pay 5 mins after the auction ended and it takes them 3 days to ship. they dont return phone calls or e-mails. they ship with a different company then what i payed for and will take a day longer. what would you guys do or think i should do.

Personally, I like fedex more then UPS.....especailly after working for both companies in local hubs...may be different in your city though.

IMO, I'd wait until the guitar arrive to jumpp to any conclusions, what's a few more days? Oh, and when you sell on eBay(though Ive not done it for a while) I don't think Fedex is even an option to display when you set up the auction... on the other hand they could have put it in the description....

The Fed Ex / UPS debate reminds me of the old Ford / Chevy debates. Both are equally bad IMO.

If your guitar was packed correctly, it will arrive fine. 1 additional day is nothing to worry about, and I'm sure he paid about $30 to ship the guitar.

If you're happy wiht the guitar, I'd leave positive feedback.

Looks like the seller is a shop. Sometimes those people don't even really know all their auction status' until a couple of days have passed. They put up so much stuff, and then do everything once a week.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Either way the shipping would've cost roughly what you paid. If the guitar is as described, and shipped well. I'd leave positive feedback. I don't think anyone was being shady there.

Good grief...I HATE FedEx ground!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had so many problems with them. UPS me ASAP.

"What's a few more days"? The answer is...a "lifetime" to the guy who just dropped "a grand" on a used Music Man. I'd be pissed too.

I'm sure the guitar will arrive in one piece via FedEx...just a couple of days late.

eBay doesn't offer FedEx. I just put in the auction UPS ground. And ship it FedEx ground it usually costs the same. I've yet to have any problems.

Would I be out of line to say that you should have bought my black Axis for a bit more and already be loving the birdseye neck?

Running a store (or two) I know that sometimes there are unforseen circumstances which delay the shipment of merchandise. Yeah, it sucks, but if that happens I generally wind up biting the fat one and upgrading the shipping on my dime. Shipping via another carrier than what the buyer requests though? NO WAY!

after the guitar arrives...& IF...... it is in stated condition....contact the seller....& inform him that because the shipping part of the deal is renigged on by him.......he should pay for the shipping to adjust the deal to insure mutual satisfaction.......otherwise your feedback will reflect your dis-satifaction w/ the deal.
this gives him a chance to reasonably compensate you fairly. give him every fair chance to satisfy u. cause negitive feedback can have reprocussions on u too....even though u did nothing wrong. he can claim anything too. try to stay out of a pissin contest on ebay if u can.:)
sometimes dumbass folks just back ya in a corner....
good luck.

I'd have to be extremely dissatisfied before I'd leave negative feedback. Getting to shipping a couple days later than promised or using a different carrier doesn't justify the black eye, imo. Just because I'm anal about living up to my part of the deal doesn't mean I can expect others to be so.

sigh ... i purchased a ESP guitar on Ebay on august 16th. Not only is shipping really expensive (80$ with insurance) through UPS but the seller told me the guitar would be here on the 23rd. I figured, alright, i'll pay more, but the package will be here sooner than regular mail.

Well, long story short, it's not here yet, and i figure it's going to be another 3-4 days minimum. To top it off, the package is not even insured (i verified with UPS) even though he charged me insurance.

Most of the delay is caused by not correctly filling out the customs forms.
And the seller seldom replies to my mails. Like once every three days.

Do you think i should leave neutral or even negative ?

I would say wait until you have it, and then post neutral with comments why.

And legally, you can refuse to pay for shipping if it's not shipped the way you requested...

I agree with Tim, but if the guitar is in as promised condition, I'd wait a couple days, to cool off about the shipping, and then decide what kind of feedback to leave. If it's important to express your annoyance with a detail, you can still allude to that in your positive feedback. You can't undo negative feedback, and I think that should be taken seriously enough to use a little self restraint.

well i got the new black axis today. i will have to say after cleaning it and setting it up it will be a 9.5 out of a 10 but not now. the guitar itself is great looking neck is new and looks to be played very little. whoever played it though sweet alot as the frest have a slight haze on them but i will take care of that later tonight with some steel wool. i already tried one fret and gone in a flash. the neck has a very nice birdseye like my evh. my other axis has a very deep flame neck. the body is prestin(sp) very nice. the bridge does need to be set up. the low side the plate under the floyd is touching like it should but the high e isnt. also isnt level front to back so may need to shim a bit. it got here and will look =great when i get done. i really dont feel like getting into a pissing match with someone so i may just let it go i dont know one point leaving them poor feedback for there service wont get me any positive feedback and i only have a 16 so far. the guitar is gonna be perfect later tonight so might as well be happy.
