What's a phantom coil?

That happens. Sometimes I take a feature for granted and then realize I have no clues as to how it really works.

I love the single coil mode on my SR5. But how does it work? Also why do not other companies provide this feature? I mean, it looks like an elegant way of producing single-coil sound without hum!

I could tell how it works really .. I 'll leave that to the pro

but why other compagnie don't offer that ...for the same reason that Only Mcdonlad does The BIG MAC. and so on

I think it's cause MM has the Right on it and by law nobody can't copy it
