But, with all that different gear, does he really sound different or does like just sound like "Albert"?

I have his "Highlights" DVD and he was using solid state Peaveys. They sounded great to me...

Yep its all in the Hands,You are I could buy an EBMM Albert Lee Sig. and a Fender Custom shop Tonemaster or even better use Al's gear and still wont sound like Him,we would sound like You or me playing through Al's gear

Al sounds like Al and we sound like ourselves of coarse if we get all his gear spec'd up we will be coming close to sounding like him but why would we want to sound like another guy????

I look at this way,Brad Pitt is probably alot more handsome than Iam..chick dig him more than me right?
I wouldnt want to change my face to look like him.Work with what you have I say :)

and I think AL just uses the best amp he can find that will give him that SUPER clean tone, whether its tube or solid state

:D
(Im running into the country now :) )

Yes i will keep you posted My Next AL will have a Piezo for sure and with my Fender acoustisonic Jr it should be a great tone! i was missing that U.S open back tone with my rig i love the Marshall tone i have with the TSL60 and i have a Epiphone 5 watt class A amp that screams but still missing that really really clean clean that only a fender Amp can give me hahahaha i try to tell my ears to listen to the new stuff but when i get it i am still unhappy so i ordered a 65 reissue to try to ease the hpain hahaha
