whats at SLO/Coachella?

I noticed that there are two locations for EB. What's all at SLO? factory plant? office? both? whats at Coachella? factory number 2? why are the two so far apart?

inquiringing minds want to know.

Coachella- EB Factory(admin and office staff for EB) Domestic EB Sales, Export Sales(EB/MM), Artist Relations, Art Department.

why so far apart? is this one of those Steve Job things? you know, Macintosh vs. Apple? hehe

there were lots of different reasons for moving EB down to Coachella, first and foremost an improved life for employee's due to the extremely high cost of living in and around SLO. It's a wildly busy day here so I dont have time to go into full detail. Do some searchin and you'll find the whole scoop.

In 2002, the company ended its 17-year stay in San Luis Obispo, citing high housing costs and the city's low unemployment rate as the reasons for the move. In a June 20, 2002 interview with The Tribune, Sterling Ball remarked, "It's really hard doing business in San Luis Obispo and it isn't getting any easier. For the past seven years, I've looked at other places." In October 2002, the company announced it was leaving San Luis Obispo. Ernie Ball planned to build a 100,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility in Coachella, California, west of Palm Springs. The company planned to complete the move into its new string instrument plant during the first fiscal quarter of 2004.
