Hello, pretty excited with my first brand new Stingray in the house.
I’ve owned many in the past, always used ones, but this time I decided to try a Special 4HH in search for more versatility. I dig the bass but… what the hell is going on with the G tuning machine??? Seems like the chrome is separating from the metal underneat… if I press it makes kind of “click-clack” sound…
I don’t want to send the bass back but .. what the hell!!
I bought from Thomann.

Thomann doesn't sell EBMM Stingray Specials or any other EBMM Bass as far as I know. Only Stingray (type) are SBMM

I would ar least call Thomann if the do/did sale you a Special and see what they suggest

Thomann sell a truckload of EBMM basses ..

Of course I will call them and they should provide a new tuning machine.. I was just wandering what’s up with that tuner and if anybody ever experienced things like that.

😀 I didn't find any on their Website must not have searched properly

I have had no trouble with mine and haven't heard any complaints at all on tuning machines for Specials

One of the best feeling and working Tuners I have experienced

The StingRay specials use lightweight tuners. I believe the tuner keys are actually plastic with a chrome surface. My guess is that you have a defective one that’s separating. Contact Thomann or Ernie Ball directly. I know EBMM for sure will replace it free of charge. They’re also really great supporting their SBMM product as well. Good luck and welcome to the club!

In the end I sent the bass back as that particular color/wood/hardware combo didn’t click with me in the flesh. But, hey.. I’m waiting another one in the Black Rock finish. Finger crossed the nice black tuners will be ok!
