Hi all,

Many thanks for all the great advice I've received here.
I have a question,

I have a 2008 Rosewood necked, sunburst ray with a 3eq and 4 strings.
See it;

And a family shot > http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c201/smobass/IMG_3678_zpscfcaba6a.jpg

I'm looking to sell it sometime soon to fund another EB-related purchase (sound familiar?), but I have no idea what the going rate for one of these would be.
Bearing in mind I'm in Australia, and it's in close to mint condition, how much do you think I could ask for it?

Cheers! :D

Keep in mind that this month you have limited time opportunity to order a new rosewood neck bass. But not BFR but I may be wrong.

But after this month it will be very rare beast again. I have one and can say that sound, aesthetics of rosewood neck and its overall feeling are extremely pleasant. I fell in love instantly when I saw a picture on the forum. I fell in love again when got my own.

But on the other side rosewood is softer than maple. So if you are going to ding the neck it can leave a dent pretty easy :)
+ Inspect the bass carefully if it is used. I got mine and faced a problem with neck flexibility cuz it was not OK. So I've spent a lot of time to get it right. When somebody sells a rosewood BFR it feels suspicious ;)

as always, price is determined by what people are willing to pay. That does however look to be a beautiful example of a BFR rosewood neck. The color is very attractive, and having the rosewood neck really adds to it.

Best way to figure out pricing would be to look at what other people are asking. BFR and Rosewood neck put it up there probably on the same level as the Limited editions, Dargie Delites, Classics, etc.

I'm not sure what you mean by this... Is this different to selling any other bass?
Is a BFR not meant to ever be sold or something? LOL ;)
BTW, I'm not buying it, I'm trying to sell it > just dunno what a reasonable price is.

Okay, thanks, I'll bear that in mind.

I should also mention, that being in Australia means all bets may be off. I am not sure how readily available they are over there. That could either add to or detract from the price you can sell it for.

My 2 Cents Slave,

Call The Bass Centre they are have a great understanding of going rates for second hand stock and they Love MM. You maybe able to trade your bass for the New MM of your dreams (if infact it is a New MM your after).
