What do you guys think is the best way to get the best price for an old Crate 2 x 12" amplifier? It really doesn't work that well, and has a loose connection. I would rather not get it fixed and I would just like to get rid of it. Is the best option the "want ads" route? Or should I try Guitar Center? I think the latter would probably take it, but not give me much at all for it.

Ebay? I guess you may be right, but I figured that a heavy amplifier would cost just about as much to ship as it was worth.

Shipping is going to be a factor but alot of people don't mind it usually.

First off, you're going to have to get it fixed (or at least in decent working order) to sell it at all.

Second - GC will not give you much for it - but they will sell it for a whole lot more!

You can try ebay. I think if you do you may want to just do it as a "pick-up only" local auction - then you don't take a hit on shipping. Just a thought.

E-Bay is probably the best way to go, yea guitar center wont give you crap for it and if you go the ebay route just list it as is and be honest with the problems. Shipping is the big cost factor, or you could try a local pawn shop.
