oh man... if you're selling a taylor it should have an OHSC and i'd pack it in that and maybe ask your local store if they have a box they'd like to donate. Most shops don't keep the cardboard around so snagging a box shouldn't be that hard to do.

What ever you do insist on shipping insurance...

If you asked UPS the answer would be, "in pieces"

LOL

if the guitar fits good in the case, i just make sure the case is padded (newspaper, popcorn, or bubble wrap) on all 4 sides of the box, taped well.

that has always worked good for me!

actually.......the neck on a taylor does unbolt right off. making it very easy to box up suspended in bubble wrap ......or dare i say........peanuts.

i'm thinkin i'm gonna carry on my main guitar unbolted & in a back pack when i go to texas in a few weeks.

Vintique actually makes threaded inserts for Tele necks that are installed into the neck to allow easy and frequent bolting and unbolting------Bill Kirchen has em on his Tele for travel purposes and Erlewine has mentioned them favorably. I'm sure you could do similar with most bolt-ons.

I don't know what the big fuss is all about... i mean it's only a '52... I have a '56 LP jr. that i did some body mods to to make it more comfortable to play. I know... it has no value to the re-sale market... but it worked for me... and i don't care about trying to sell it in the future. It's sick and i like it!

Anyone else got Vintage Gear that Tommy and I can work on... i bet it'll turn out better than that hack job that was done on that LUKE a few weeks ago...
