the Peavey EHV? Cuz they no longer make an MM Evh. Wut Happened is the Axis used to be the EVH, but then Eddy left, and went to Peavey, and they made the same thing with 2 small dif.s; The Headstock and on the best model they make, it's a carved top body
The volume knob is no longer labelled "tone" and correctly labelled "volume" on the Axis which was an inside joke funny only the first time.
Also, I thought I remembered hearing that the MM EVH had a Schaller Floyd Rose. The Axis unit is definetely a EB built Floyd (fairy comprable with a Schaller, IMHO). Can anyone clarify?
Also, I can attest that the custom build neck for the EVH model that was intentionally worn in a few areas is still there on the Axis. There's noticable wear in the thumb position in a few places.
Ah, forgot the ever-loving knob...thanks for the addition, hendmik.
I can tell you, after owning and playing both over the course of the last year and a half, the necks feel of both of them are pretty much unnoticable IMHO. Some people may think otherwise, but we rough them up otherwise to come around.
The EVH (as does the Axis) have Gotoh Floyd's...the only OTHER difference (which I forgot about earlier) between the two is the saddles used. Originally, they had saddles that were offset, and currently they are not.

So, to recap overall:
1. Lack of Eddie's signature on the headstock (obviously)
2. Toggle switch is moved down below the volume knob (my pet peeve), instead of the original location near the bottom horn/below the neck pickup.
3. Body is carved on back for comfort, blah blah.
4. Neck width at higher frets is increased slightly to help avoid high E string slippage.
5. "Tone" knob is now labeled "Volume".
6. Offset saddles on the Floyd (EVH), non-offset on the Axis.
7. ... about $1000-$2000 on the tag. (I still gotta throw that in there )
