(2018 Axis) I know the little screw on the side of the Floyd Rose determines how loose the whammy bar swings/moves. All I have figured out with the bottom screw is that if you tighten it enough, the whammy bar pops out of the hole. If you keep the tiny screw loose, the whammy bar itself has a VERY tiny amount of motion up and down once it's clicked into place, which I cannot understand the purpose of the bar moving slightly up/down on it's own? Someone please explain the purpose of that tiny bottom screw  😅

The updated Floyd has a bar that pushes into position, which yours has.

That little set screw does exactly what you described - sets the total depth for the bar to click in place. If the screw is in too far the bar won't click (pops out) and if the screw is backed out too far (not gently snugged) then the bar will have some extra movement after it clicks into place.

What Pete said is good advice and he has great service! My only problem with Pete is he sold me an Axis once with some irregularities in the top. :)

Is this a preference thing? Obviously if it's too far in, you can't put the whammy in (so that is not a preference). So in regards to unscrewing it looser (coming out), do people have a preference? Or is there a proper position for it? I'm just confused because I'm struggling to notice much difference with it being loose or not. The other little screw on the side of the floyd rose which controls the swing of the whammy bar, now that is very obvious to me (preference wise). Sorry if I'm being slow to understand this!!
