Hi folks...new member here...glad I found this place!!!!

I find Music Man guitars absolutely superb in all areas - playability, fit and finish, tone etc...

I have never found a manufacturer to be this consistent with their playability and quality. Amazing, to me!

These SUB1 guitars really have my interest as they play like butter and are relatively inexpensive. Inexpensive enough to use as a starting platform for p/u mods etc...

I'm thinking these would make a great gigging guitar and with some minor mods they could be serious guitars.

What is the route under the pickguards on these?
Is it a swimming pool route or is it just individually routed for two humbuckers (or single hb).

Also how's the trem - is it the same trem as on the Silhouette models?
Do they stay in tune? (no VH dive bombs here)

Thanks for your help!

If it's the H-H model then it's routed H-H. I've already modded an H-H and made it into an H-S-S, by adding another route, Bill Lawrence pups and a white pearloid pup guard (thanks to beej). Oh where are my manners, welcome and you've made a really good decision by getting some Balls! Yes they stay in tune, the trem is pretty much the same, however the locking tuners are not. They are generic but they do the trick nonetheless!

Thanks for the detailed response.

Those pics are great - that's pretty much exactly what I've got in mind including the 5 way switch.

Thanks again!!!

Raz,

No wonder you never play that thing! It still has no strings! Only a dog could hear you play that thing!

My dog leaves the room every time I start to play, maybe he's trying to tell me something. And you'll never believe it, I've had him for 12 years and his name is Ernie.
