What's up with the EQ on my SR5?

I guess I grew accustomed to it, but when my teacher was playing my SR5 last week, he said my treble control did almost absolutely nothing. I hadn't noticed, but he went from complete cut to complete boost and there was almost no difference. The mid range control was fine, but he said the bass control was almost too crazy. He said that the boost was insane but affected the volume too much. Is this just the way rays are or should I get it checked out?

I guess you should have it checked out. The treble control is very efficient, so any tweaking can normally be heard.

BTW, did you check the battery ? When they are dying, they sometimes do very strange things.

Try it on a few different amps too. Depending on speaker configuration, adjusting the treble control might not be as noticeable as adjusting the bass or mid controls.

Strings are new, battery is new, it was just fully set up by a professional... Time to test the wonderful CS of Musicman!

Haha I knew you were kidding, just clarifying .

I'm proud to have a SR5 as my main axe. I just got done going through some bach cello concertos and my hands feel like death, but I couldn't imagine doing it on another bass. Thanks for the great product .
