OK maybe the heat is getting to me and making me loco, or maybe I am just getting old and parniod:p or maybe just thinking too much but I have made some random observations about the Luke model recently.

First anything I state is a random thought not a complaint:p

OK I have ordered a few guitars over the time I have been here and normally 3 to 4 months good to go, I ordered a Luke I am waiting on back in April and being told 3 to 4 more weeks so that makes it 5, 5 1/2th months maybe 6.

For the last few weeks been internet looking at Lukes, to see what was out there and well first and foremost our largest MM dealer Guitar Center-Musicians Friend have none available except a BFR Rubyburst that NOS and all the smaller dealers only have NOS so are we in for a tweak of the Luke??:D

OK random thought process over what do f:Dormites think. and oh yea please get here soon Luke:)

I suspect a healthy backorder workload - not a bad thing in these times!

Fing, I've been waiting on my HH AL for a while too - but the wait is the coolest part for me, guitars so special you have to wait up to 8 months (in some cases in the UK) to get one -now that's elite!

Hang in there fella, you do have a few EBMM guitars to help you through the rough times!

i actually got my hands on a LUKE today for the first time... i had a hard time not walking out the door with it... and certainly has me re-thinking the direction i'm going with my EBMM guitars... maybe i need to start thinking about a BFR Luke and call it good... OMG! have i gone crazy!?!?

A tweak here, a tweak there....you never know. Would be interesting to see what they came up with. The Luke is such a great guitar already it can't be easy to make it better. Anyone considering buying a Luke, pull the trigger.

It is perfectly normal. I had the same feeling trying one, few weeks before I got my Luke :)

Fing, I ordered mine in March and I got it exactly a month ago from today. So the time frame is about right. From what Pete told me, they are backed up 2-3 weeks, so no worries. You will have it soon enough. The LUKE is a great guitar and I've been playing it exclusively since I got it. It's just so versatile and comfortable and looks so sexy :D. Just dont sell it again man!

Here's mine just for reference hehehehe :)

this color is just insane :)

Roubster can you check if the PUPS are soldered or using the solderless assembly kit from EMG?

I'm very curious about that  if so a lot of experiment could be done especially with EMG89 pups ;)

Hi David
They are soldered
I can see that when i've made a custom wiring on the 5 way switch to have Strat sound on position 4:)

Mine as well but I'm reluctant doing any changes on the Dargie :)

I was just wondering if the new models follow the EMG trend or not :)

(so now, yours have an EMG89?)

No always a 85
My custom wiring is made to have more a pos 4 like a Strat without split humbucker
Just cut a shunt and replace by 2component
I've really 5 distinctives sound now

When I tried my first Luke a while back, I was very impressed.

At the time I thought I couldn’t afford it and 2 months later I bought the BCB Axis. That was 2 months ago. Had the Luke still been there I probably would of bought it over the Axis. Not just to save a few hundred bucks but to switch things up for a change.

I love position 4 on the Luke for clean glassy sounds. Have you wired yours to use the bridge and neck instead of the mid and neck? Interesting.

For me original pos 4 is too similar
To 5
I continue to use middle and bridge pu's
I don't split the humbucker
I add a resistence and a capacitor in serial
That's work like a passive eq
I think that's that minimise humbucker présence to have a twangy sound
I'm not at home now (on the beach in corsica)
I'll create a post for that or give all instruction next week

I've talk to Jean Marc on the phone today

what he calls Pos 4 is pos 2 Bridge + mid :)

and what he did a just an electronic trick to get more quack typical of that Fender pos 2. I'm now very eager to get the wiring and try it if I can save an EMG89 why not :p

I was even thinking of swapping EMG85 to EMG HA

for those interested
