I mean, why is the Petrucci (non-BFR) the only guitar that comes in a special case that fits the Pet completely? Why not one for the AL, Morse and Luke? I'd really like to have a case that fits my Luke better... Anyone?

Well, Luc, it actually was the case on the earlier pets. I've had three of them and the cases were dead on the shape of the JP body. However, it was soon found out that the close fitting of the pet case around the neck joint attributed to the neck-joint crack issue, and the special cases for pets were dropped.
I much prefer the standard case, becuase I've always had a problem to fit the ends of my dimarzio cliplocks innto the very exact shape of the older pet case - now there is enough space to put the guitar in there with the strap on. But if You prefer stress cracks - ask Big Poppa (or SKB, actually) if they could make You a special molded case to exactly fit Your Luke

Cases are such a drag.....we have to provide them but I would rather stay miles away form them

But I'm talking about the new since 2008 Pet cases. Pics:
Didn't know they caused the stress cracks. Why would EB 'reissue' these cases if they harm the guitar?
BP, do you take the decision to offer a special case for the Pets or does SKB make you an offer or something? No offence here, just curious.

I'm pretty sure the new cases with the logo and sig is the newer case design with the added bonus. They wouldn't go back to the old design again if it contributed to stress cracks!

Thanks a bunch Big Poppa for Your reply! Well, maybe wrapping the axes up in a present paper is a better idea if guitar cases are such a PITA Speaking of which, I would love to get a white petrucci in an all black paper with white ribbons.
About the new cases - I didn't know that! I thought the fitting petrucci case was done with and is long gone... Well, the guys have probably found some way to prevent the cracks from appearing in the fitting cases, maybe they have redesigned the neck joint portion of the case a bit...
