No clear majority, but I’m glad to see the Sil and Sil Special are still represented amidst the rest. Since bonding with my maple board one, both Sil Specials are equally my “go to”: Blue for velvet and cream, Sundown for spank and bite. For me, it just doesn’t get any better.

My AL - it's 2 guitars in one with the piezo.
I love it - don't want to play my Tele or LP.
An MM90 equiped AL looks on the cards.

I love playing the guitar through my AER - so small and the mags sound great too!
If I want to play "with more balls" then I go via my POD.

I'm in heaven !!!

I've owned 5 EVH/Axis Sports with different configrations, but my favorite is the late '90s Axis Sport with S/S/H. I've rewired a couple of those to add a coil tap switch as I like to use the tapped humbucker alone for twangier tones.

I just did one this way a week ago and it sounds awesome. I replaced the stock pickups with Lollars - a Tweed model in the neck, a Blonde in the middle and an Imperial in the bridge. I gigged Friday night and thought the Imperial was a bit dull sounding with the front coil tapped (active) so I flipped the pickup around to get the tapped coil closer to the bridge. I gigged again Saturday night and was real happy with what I was getting - although I did have to roll the tone control down a bit like I used to do with my Teles. I took it to tommyindelaware's gig tonight so he could check it out and he thought it was a bit too twangy. I guess I should have shown him how to operate that Tone control too....;) :D

Hey, Goldsilo - if you ever decide to sell that green Axis S/S/H, please let me know!!

The Albert Lee (w. single coils) gets played 90% of the time, I'm afraid. The neck and sound is just too perfect.

Axis sport with MM90's. Those pickups is a nice compromize between humbuckers and single coils. They can get a fat overdive sound, and still sound twangy for a country tune.

yeah the MM90's are a bit underrated! Great tone, i've been playing my Axis SS w/MM90's last few days, what a great axe. it really is the prefect compromise between single coils and humbuckers, and the bridge pickup is great for rock and country, has a nice bite.
