I ordered in a Vintage White Pearl pick guard from EB for my lefty Ray to try something different from the all black look. Its like a fine tuxedo! :)

Thanks guys. I actually ordered two of these pick guards as the other other one is destined for my Black Cherry Ray. I was surprised that one arrived before the other but I was in no rush. Just wanted to try another flavor. The black Ray feels like a whole new bass!

Fantastic Bass as well as pictures! I'm of the mindset that if you own more than... *5* Basses, at least 1 must a "Tuxedo". Which means I'm in severe need of a Black or Trans Black Bass now! :D

Nice contrast. In PG, to me it's all about the contrast.

That's exactly the way I look at Basses with pickguards, in terms of both body as well as fingerboard colors. My Textured Cinnamon SUB Sterling's standard Flat Black 'guard got quickly replaced with a EBMM White Pearloid (as the SUB Sterling & "Regular" Sterlings are swappable) and I just placed an order last week to Tony @ Pickguardian for a custom "Black Abalone/B/W/B" pickguard for my SUB 5 after much flip-flopping and staring at Photoshopped mock-ups (I also had "Red Tort", "Silver Pearloid" & "Red Pearloid" in the running but wanted to go with a color/pattern not seen everyday... besides MM's "Moonstone" :) ) and I believe that both are far improved by the changes.

The photos do make the guard look white but its actually a nice cream color. Not sure how the Vintage White will look on the Black Cherry but I agree that sometimes its fun to just switch things up.

It certainly does look better than black on black, but I never liked the classic "Black&Maple" combination anyway.
