Hello,

It’s been a while since I owned a MM! I need one!😂

A fella down the road is selling a Yucatan blue Axis SS. I think I’m gonna go for it but only if it has stainless frets.

He bought it new last year. Just trying to confirm the fret specs.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers 🤜

SS frets were part of the updates when they went to the current version of the Axis/Axis SS (roasted maple necks/Yucatan blue & roasted amber colors), which I believe was mid-2020. There were some BFRs and Premier Dealer runs that had the SS frets prior to the current version.

Cheers man. Cool. So based on this, I can be pretty damn certain that buddy’s 2021 Yucatan ASS he has listed has stainless.

Appreciate it 🤜

Only way to tell for sure is to input the serial number here for its “born on” date. He could have bought it from NOS.

The Yucatan colour was rolled out along with SS frets so you should be good to go.

If the fella is just down the road, you could also take a look. They'll be a wee bit shinier than the nickel frets ;)

That's a good way to check.
Stainless steel frets became standard on the Axis and Axis Super Sport when they introduced the new 2021 finishes, Yucatan Blue and Roasted sunburst.
