When do you know when to re-oil/wax your necks?

I have two Axis (axii?) and I've only had one of them for more than a year.
Either way my ASS' neck feels smoother, and my Sport's neck feels a little... dry? Not sure how to describe I guess.
Of course the Sport needs new strings so I may as well oil her again...

i know when to re-oil the necks when they start to feel dry/ a bit rough. After re-oiling its smooth as when it was new

You just re-oiling the neck,that`s it?
How bout some wax?For me only oil&wax treatment does the trick,but heard some guys just use oil only.

correct, i do oil & wax.
after just using the oil i find the neck a bit sticky. wax does the trick!

If a neck feels rough, then I'll sand/oil/wax it. Probably every few years.

yup - when it feels weird - i'm a big fan of oil only as it seems to result in more of a factory "feel" - but hell, a spot of wax causes no probs - just a bit "waxier" that's all!! lol
