Question When was Lava Pearl discontinued? Seen a 'new' bass

Just wondering, when was Lava Pearl officially discontinued?

Ive been eyeing up a EBMM in this colour in the UK, and apparently its still brand spanking new, but I know the colour is no longer being offered.

How old would the bass be?

Sounds like NOS. Probably been there for at least 2 years. It happens. There was a dealership a couple months ago that were selling some NOS Axis guitars from inventory that were finishes that were discontinued 7 years ago.

Well, the dealer can charge whatever they want obviously. It really depends on how anxious they are to move their inventory. There are some dealers that once something gets discontinued or has been around for awhile, they discount the price in order to free up inventory and bring new stuff in. Sometimes its not a big deal, you can see a place like Basscentral still has limited edition items from 2-3 years ago selling for more than new prices. If a dealership is in good enough shape financially, then they may never discount an item.

Well, I managed to get a very very good quote...having a think over the next few days. I basically said what Im willing to pay and they accepted, should I want to go ahead.

It is, as they said, still brand new, just not a 2009/10. It has the case with the logo so earliest it can be is an 08, I guess?

The one Ive been offered says 'Bongo'....should it say 'Bongo 5'? Not sure on case size etc.
