What... Is... The... Deal?

I haven't seen as many as I thought I would by now... One-zies, two-zies here and there... Not much of a color choice/selection either... I would love to buy a natural/black pickguard/maple neck/4-string...
:(

I haven't seen any of the Classic Series in the stores yet, but i'm told my Classic SR5 will arrive in the next week or two. Exciting! :D

TD

PS - I did notice that Bass Central has Classic SR4's and SR5's in stock according to their website.

Hope you can track one down. You'll certainly enjoy it. Got mine from Bass Central - great guys to work with.

They just got in a green 4 string at my local GC to test the market. I'll have to go by there and try it out. The manager said it goes for $1579.00

I would go there to try it out but I HATE Guitar Center. They always throw that sales pitch while I'm trying out instruments.

or this:

GC salesman: Dude, what is that bass you're trying. :)

Me: It's a new Music Man StingRay Classic. :)

GC salesman: Bro those are soo-cool! I wish we sold those.

Me: But.....you do!

Yeah I hate GC too.
They're good for the strings hanging on the wall, even though they don't know what's hanging there either!

I found one!!!

Well,

After literally about a day's worth of detective-work, I found one!

It started off by calling EBMM and asking for an update on the classic series, as I was told at NAMM that they weren't going to release the natural config as part of the main line of classics... Possibly in the future... But it turned out that they did release about 15 of the classics in the configuration I was looking for: Natural 4-string, 2EQ, Maple Neck & Fretboard and black pickguard (a la Louis Johnson, Bernard Edwards and Paul S. Denman). Thanks to the very helpful staff at GC Murrieta, I located one in La Mesa, CA. Well, luckily I was off yesterday and today and that just meant ROAD-TRIP TIME!!!

After an hour and a half's drive down to La Mesa, I was there... Everything was still in the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHooooo Hoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

The salesperson hadn't even opened the box and placed it on display yet. In fact, he was supposed to do that all day yesterday. Not this one, I'll take that, thanks.
