Trans White dates back to the early 1990's. Not many were made. There's about 35 Sting Rays. Approx 10 of these had Rosewood fret boards with the 3EQ pre-amps. I don't know the figures for other instruments. I've seen the finish on SR5's, Sterlings and, from memory, one of the 6 string Guitars.

According to 5Stringer in the colour thread, I have one of less than 10 SR5's that were made in trans white.

Originally it looked like this:

I have since changed the pickguard (it was starting to shrink and lift around the screws and edges):

And I swapped the necks with my '98, so it's now fretless:

Good score!! That is definitely trans white. It looks just like mine, except I have the rosewood board instead of the maple.

What ever you do. Don't follow suit and change the pickguard to black. Mine had a black PG on it when I bought it. Luck for me the previous owner kept the original PG.

I put it back on and the tran white color just seemed to pop out more. My 92 is an awesome bass.

I was living in Austin at the time a brand new SR5 trans white came through Strait music. Right after I bought my trans teal SR5:eek: Everyone in the store was standing around the case looking at it. Jaws agape. I still kick myself to this day.
