I've texted back and forth a bit with him last week.

...and I'll vouch for that Marty guy! Talk about a dealer. :)

...hey are any of the GC guys making the desert domination?

Since you asked....

The awesome Steve Morse clinic happened right smack in the middle of what was originally supposed to be my vacation and required so much preparation that I was unable to escape to my fortress of solitude (the beach) for even one day. I did manage to get away for a little bit this past weekend, even though to do so I had to turn my phone, computer, and brain off. I dug a new pond w/ landscaping & did some suspension work on my project '68 Barracuda. I also managed to put a few hundred miles on my Dart. Some of those miles were at or even below the speed limit (until I mashed the gas pedal). With the new engine that car tears so hard that I twisted the frame a bit on a 2nd-3rd upshift. The doors are now difficult to open, the paint on the passenger quarter panel developed "stress cracks" in 2 spots (can I send the car back to Chrysler for a new body/repaint?), the exhaust rattles against the frame, the sunroof doesn't want to close all the way, I have a sore neck from the whiplash, and I couldn't be happier with the performance from that beast. :D Yesterday I got a nice sunburn while doubling the number of spotwelds and welding all the seams shut on the Barracuda K-frame.

Here's the Dart.

Saturday night about 20 of us went out to see one of the local bands that I help sponsor. The bassist uses an active SUB4, and during the first song it sounded like he was overdriving the **** out of the preamp. I mentioned this to one of the guys with us, he laughed and said "yeah he is" --- after the 5th song I hear the bassist call me out on the PA .. "Pete DuBaldo, where'd you go?! I need your help on stage with my bass" First thing I noticed was that all the controls on the bass were up full, and so was the pre-gain on the amp. After setting everything to a normal level, giving the battery a tongue test and turning up the master on the amp while noticing a funny smell coming from it (not just from the bassist), we decided he needed a new rig. 15 minutes later, in a record-breaking trip across town to the Beller's store and back, there was a brand spankin used peavey 4x10 & head onstage & a new 9v in the SUB. Problem solved; I celebrated by having a coke (self-imposed limit 1 per week).

I haven't had any time to "woodshed for the desert" yet.

Nick is away on an 8 day hunting safari in South Africa. He said he is planning on staying in a "hide" 30 feet up. I don't know what he hopes to bag out there, he said there are no SLO country-club waitresses on this trip who want to have twins

I'm pulling 56 hours at the pharmacy this week plus some sporadic hours at the music store - I started my 13 day pharmacy rotation today. I will be answering emails and phone calls as time permits.

I have will some fun stuff to post here later in the week.

PS those of you who called my cell & left voice mail, thanks for checking in - I am OK! :D

Wow Pete, you're a perfect example of needing a vacation from a vacation! Good to have you back.

Bronc is up for sale my friend. I had my fun in the sand with it!! No A/C is killin me though .. I hate to part with it. She's still got plenty of miles ahead of her .. I hope she will make some enthusiast happy. When you've only got one ride, you've got to (unfortunately) settle for normal comforts ... a/c, power stuff, and seatbelts!! Looks like I might be takin the bike to work for awhile ;)

Jodi, I think he's talking about that song "oh where oh where has my little dog gone? oh where oh where can he be?" not Carmen SanDiego.... We all just aged ourselves so badly... :D

haha It was Carmen Sandiego actually. :p I couldn't watch it much as a kid cuz I always overslept, but that theme song was awesome. :D
