Hi folks.

Just wondering where is the best place to place an order for a new MM bass in the UK at the moment? I.E who has the best balance of Customer service and sharpness of pricing if you know what i mean;)

I have been really GASing for a Sterling 5 and there doesn't seem to be many places in the UK where you can buy one off the peg even, let alone try one out...

+ Also what is the best pick-up configuration in your opinions? I love Ed Friedlands Demo of the HH, which is great, but on both of my EBMM HH basses i tend to favour the rear pick up pretty heavily.:D Is HS a good compramise or best just to save some money and stick with the good old single H? I heard someone mention there is abit of a switching compramise when you go HH??

Thanks Knuckleheads, all opinions will be appreciated!

P.s Because I know it's important....I'm thinking White with matching headstock, maple board and black PG.:)

I really love the single H sr5 I have. I can take it any gig and it will fit right in. Nice colour combo btw.

Sorry I can't help on the shop bit. But I know I was talki g to the guys in strings and things and they told me what stock they had in and suggested a store for me to get a new bass from.

Go on the Musicman uk website and S and T list all the instruments they have in stock - you can have them taken to your dealer on appro. There are quite a number of large and small dealers around with stock also.

Alternatively, as you're in Dorset, there's an excellent dealer in Poole (Absolute Music) who has a large stock usually - they dealt with my classic Ray and I couldn't have asked for better service. And white/maple/black pg is a great combination - also looks great with a white pg - you could always order a spare pg if you wanted! I guess you're gonna get a lot of tort suggestions here - as JLepre noted recently, some people would tort their toasters if they could :D :D
