Good afternoon all,

Today, while playing my Musicman Supersport Axis, My
volume suddenly took a massive drop, and in fact can
only be faintly heard when my guitars volume is maxed.
I've tested both the cable and the amp with another
guitar to ensure that the source of the problem is the
supersport axis. (This has happened twice before only to come back shortly thereafter). Can someone please guide me to a reason
behind this fault and how best to correct it.

P.s. the volume just came back but im more worried that something's totally screwed with the guitar :(

I wouldn't worry to much, as I'd say it's only a switch or volume pot issue. Just take it to your local repairer and he'll be able to fix it. If it's brand new and still under warranty then contact the store you purchased it from.

Could be a short as well, a solder joint that's intermittently making a connections.

Colin's got a point as well.

Is your guitar new? under warranty?
