Which model is most popular?

I know there are posts about which members have what bass, but does anybody know the popularity of models in the big picture - as in world-wide sales? Maybe someone has a graph at headquarters in SLO? I'm just curious. My guess is that the Stingray 4 is still on top. Now, we have the different pickup combos available and that would further complicate the issue, but maybe that info could be pulled from a report too. The SUB didn't work out, but that was a money issue. The late, great Sabre was pulled probably due to the Stingray being so much more popular. I was a fan of the Sabre, but unfortunately, I didn't hang on to one of them - and I had several. I had inquired about a Sterling 5 back before there was anything in the works. Now that it's here, I'll probably buy a few of them while they're in production for fear of them being disco'd if sales aren't where they need to be. It's the perfect 5 string IMO - spacing, neck and the nice compact body of the Sterling. It will be interesting to see how the Sterling 5 sells.

I don't think we'll be seeing any graphs, but this general sort of question has come up before and BP said something that makes me believe that on Monday through Thursday, they build black Stingray 4s with maple necks.

On Fridays, after lunch, everything else.

I was thinking along similar lines a few days ago......

I would be very interested in knowing the bass sales mix out of curiousity. Are Bongos selling well yet? Are Sterlings moving? Are SR5s catching up to (non black/maple) SR4s? etc.

The company I work for releases this information but we are a publically traded $12 billion company. Being a privately held company does have it's advantages with regards to disclosure.

You can specify a two band EQ if you order a new one. They're still available.
