I have a lovely early Axis and also now a 25th anniversary model, but what next ? advise please ?

I do not really like the more modern models such as Morse etc but always am attracted to good woods and their finish. I have preference for rosewood finger board, but have MM ever used ebony on a model ?

thanks for input in advance

If you like an ebony fretboard, I'd recommend finding one of the black Sugar roasted maple limited editions. They do have a finished neck, so that may be a dealbreaker for you.

Didn't the morse guitars come out before the axis so it really wouldn't be a modern guitar , it's a very versatile guitar though. it's a great playing guitar you should really try one out

You don't need to guess that I'm going to recommend an Albert Lee. ;)They offer rosewood on the HH models but I'd say go for an SSS or MM90 so that you have a different guitar in your Arsenal. My MM90 has a rosewood board but that is an LE model

Thanks for input guys ( and gals ?) that is just in case any feminist objects to me assertion that replies are male !!

I for some time did not really like the Albert at all, however I am warming to the body design of late so if an ebony boarded Albert with single coils and trem is around, wheel it in !!!

You won't be disappointed with the MAPLE board - yes, you do have to look after it, to keep it clean but IMO has a great feel.

(from another Kevin in the UK !!)

From the Axis to the AL takes a little getting used to neck wise. The Al just feels to fat at first, but once you play it for a bit they are very interchangeable, however I do find that I play very differently on the two guitars.
