A question I have asked myself, because DG is the most amazing finish I've ever seen.

Why?

Because, depending on how it's lit, it can look like "plain old orange" or "amazing orange-yellow-burst" or "deep sparkly peach-apricot" or "glowing yellow" or anything you might want to read into it.

I absolutely love it.

I mourn its passing, and I will forever question the sanity of the decision...even though I understand it.

The answer I have arrived at is that is does not matter. There can never be another DG. The fact that it has been discontinued only makes my bass even more precious to me.

I'm sure the new colors are cool in their own way. But they're not DG, and they cannot be.

Nor should they be.
