Also quick question, can you get a clear pickguard on silo's? I feel like sometimes the pickguard sort of covers up the nice paint job, especially on those really eye popping colors. So I'm leaning petrucci...

I still say go with the JP6.
The silo doesn't come with a clear guard option AFAIK. The body is fairly heavily routed so I don't know if it would look good like it does on the Axis Sport (someone just did this) or the SM Y2D.

this might not sound right to you but the silo is ugly and the jp isnt. i havent spent enough time with the silo but its pretty difficult to be dissapointed with the petrucci

You can get an aftermarket clear pickguard.

Desert Gold is a very cool color, it has a nice retina-searing hue to it

I wanted to say something about that but:

When I think of retina-searing, I think of Radiance Red. Combine that with the World Domination Mode available on the JP, and you're ready to go nuts.
Or go Balls...

I have both and the SiLO (Piezo Trem) is my #1. Then again I really like maple boards better. I played the MD pet just last night and I really think I need to take the 10's off of it and put on my friendly 9's
