Next October 3rd I will take a plane and I will go to a Meet and Greet with Dream Theater in Dusseldorf.

I would like to dismount some part of my JP BFR to be signed by John Petrucci. Which part easy to dismount would you take with you?.

Many people told me not to sign the body of my guitar because I could damage the beautiful burst quilted top so I have thought to take one of the plastic pieces in the back of the body.

Are these pieces available to buy as a spare part?. Where can I buy them?.

Any suggestions?.

Probably the easiest part to remove is the cover for the tremolo springs. If you get the inside of the cover signed, it won't wear off when you play the guitar! It should be able to fit in your pocket, and it is fairly inexpensive if you wanted to get an extra one.

My first choice would be the back of the Headstock. IF this would not be possible, i´d take the plastic cover Pete mentioned, too.

+1

I have done back of the headstock before and coated it over, but I wish i had done the spring plate. Easily and cheaply replaceable and then you can frame your signed plate. Definitely don't get the body signed.

I'm going to be taking the back trem plate from all of my JP guitars.

Pete, can you get extra ones or do I need to contact CS?

go along with the backplates.

these are the plates of my 07LE and my 7-string JP.
john signed it first, and i only wanted to be signed by him, but jordan grabed it after john finished and signed as well. everything happend so quickly, as i recognized it, john m. and james had signed it as well, so i took the plates and gave it mike to signe as well.
but in the end, i´m very happy with all the signatures on the plates. :D

yeah i got my backplate signed aswell, but i only let JP sign it :D my tactic was have the SC album booklet get them to sign their respective pages and after JP signed his page i would give him the plate to sign then take it away... worked a treat :) have it hanging on my wall actually with my VIP pass :)
