I am looking for a Bongo 5 for the very near future. I would like to hear what pup configuration is your favorite and why. It will be alternating some with my 25th 5HH. Just your own opinions. The music I play is Southern Rock Classic Rock and Country. Thanks in advance.

You just can't go wrong with single H! My Bongo 5 is a single H model and it sounds just perfect. I like the simpler eq as well as I tend to leave everything flat.

You have HH going already with the 25th.

Go for dead simple, the single H, or go for subtle power with an HS.

I like 'em both.

Funny...I am very happy that I got the HH on my Bongo because it gives me some deep thumpy tones via the neck PUP if I need it.

But I am also very happy with my Sterling H because one humbucker is all that the Sterling needs.

They are all good...you can't go wrong.

I played a sterling H at a rock/country gig and found myself wishing I had a neck pickup at times. The Bongo, however, has a much different tone, and while I haven't played a single H version I can imagine it would work well.

I need an H bongo as well...
