My white 2006 StingRay starts to become a tad creamy. Probably also because it's almost always on a stand and exposed to daylight.

Probably never. The modern finishes have UV additives that old finishes from decades past did not. Slight creamy is about it.

I got an answer from EBMM CS recently (few months ago), I asked for a white color of the new reflex basses before I made an order!
They have convinced me that modern white finishes are pretty resistant to become yellow! ;)

I think if you use it a lot, and its in sunlight, it might might go a little bit creamy....but the modern white is white white white! :)

My SR5 (Whitey) started to yellow 3 years after I bought it. To this day it's still continuing to.

PS - I have photos for proof if interested.

Could I see your Whitey? :D

Since you asked nicely and Jack got in a good zinger, ok.

This was taken just after I bought Whitey.

Here's Whitey when it was two years old. See the difference in colour between the body and the pickguard. The body had started to yellow.

And here's Whitey a year later with a change of pickguard and pickup. I found it somewhat difficult to capture the yellowish finish because of the bright lighting, but you get the idea.

With all due respect... I doubt that you did a proper white point setting for each of the images, thus is pretty hard to tell whether it's a difference lighting or actually a hue change of the body colour.

But, you could do a proper comparision shot: The SR5 with your new Big Al, both being white... unless that would be different whites...

As I mentioned, it's very difficult (with my camera) to capture how the bass has yellowed. You'll just have to trust me on this one.

Well, I never owned any white bass before, so my incoming reflex will be the first Whitey!

I hope that this modern white finishes are resistant to become yellower, but however have nothing against little creamy touch in a years, 'cause maple neck and fret board will become yellower too!

Certainly do believe you - see attached white 2004 StingRay - compare the white to the parked Strat's pg.

This bass looks brilliant white in strong light and a slightly off white otherwise.

BTW the lack of a pg reflects a desire to slap and pop a la Flea easier, but the bass gets a black pg or the original matte white dependent on how the 21 yr old owner is feeling that day ;)
