White JP proto in 2002 video?

Saw this video from 2002 and John was warming up on a slightly modified white JP6. Wonder what the extra switches do... it's at 5:25 right after he gets out of the shower

I have no exact knowledge, but it looks like a sustainer to me. Extra switches and a modified neck pickup?

That's from his instructional DVD, Rock Discipline. It's a nice vid, focusing mostly on technique. This is from the bonus section extra to celebrate the release of finally coming out in DVD format.

Hopefully he'll do another one soon enough.

Yeah, but there is something else on the side of the guitar past the piezo vol knob and there is also a black hole? where the piezo switch should be...

I believe the switch past the piezo knob could be something similar to a baritone switch, but not sure though.
