sell the blue one instead. Once the sparkle has gone, you aint gonna get it back!

:eek::eek::eek: -1 :eek::eek::eek:

I know you wouldn't... It would be madness.
The originals are getting harder to find everywhere, let alone in Aus!

If you could keep it and still eventually afford the BFR, i would take that route...

That way you could have a couple in rotation... BFR can be your at home, in the studio or 'special event' guitar as opposed to cained every gig.

But if your dead set on getting one and can't commit without cash from the sale...
Mmm... This is a hard one... Normally i'd say go for it... But the bond to ones guitar is a big thing... I shall ponder further

Just save up. If you absolutely don't get on with a guitar, then trade/sell it.

+1

If you can save up, do that...

If you can't save up... And you've actually gotten your hands on the BFR and had a bit of a nooge and it feels supreme and you just have to have it.. Sell or trade it to a good forum home :)

I don't think you'll have a problem shifting it, it's lovely.

Definately spend some time w/ the bfr, like the Dr. said, to see if it would even be worth it. The one that speaks to you is the one you keep. Like you already know, Luke's black sparkle is the one for him despite all the different BFRs he plays.

I understand you not giving up your Luke I. I'm expecting mine in any day now and I'll never sell it either. Like I said before it would be cool if they reissued those Luke I's in a special color to commerate some anniversary just so we could buy them again.

Luscious' black sparkle is an excellent example... I agree 100%.
Dito the option of a snazzy re-issue :D

Hey that's a tough call. My opinion is that yeah its a rare color, but a BFR is another tone than what you have already, and the tone is what counts. Though I do prefer the white sparkle cosmetically to any flame or quilt.

In my opinion there is epic tonal differences between a Luke 1 and Luke 2... Similarly there will be a difference between the 1, 2 and the BFR...

Each guitar would bring something different to the table...
I know each of my lukes has a very very different personality...

I suppose this is a long way of saying i think a Luke 1, 2 and BFR would all provide you with something a bit different and I would not consider you were 'doubling up on your tone' if that makes sense...

I'm with Glock, go with what feels good and sounds best to your ears....

Just keep kicking ass with your music Deano - and keep the Sparkle.

The rewards will come, then grab the BFR.

Dean, I'm with Dizzy 100% man. The Sparkles are difficult to come by especially on a Luke. If you like the guitar as much as you've said, I'd recommend keeping it man. I've sold sparkles that I loved and really regretted it later. My $.02 worth man.

Good luck with the Luke BFR. :D
