Who uses flatwounds on their Stingrays and what kind do you use

I am thinking about putting flatwounds on my Stingray Classic and wanted to get some advice on what kind people use. Suggestions please

I put them on my SR4 just to see how they sound and have not been able to escape that amazing tone!!!

Despite how much you already put in the pockets of EB with your recent purchase, they frown on discussions of non-EB stuff, including strings.

I have used (sorry to mention other brands) TI jazz flats, Ken Smith Slickwounds, D'Addario Chromes and EB flats. All have their merits and I would consider them all good strings.

My SR5 is currently strung with EB flats and I have never been more satisfied. It really is a great sound.

I use EB group 3 on the fretted bongo. Teriffic live sound. Group 4s on the bongo fretless.

I have EBMM Group III flats on the fretless 'Rays.

Tried several different brands but liked the sound and feel of the Group III's best, because they're not very different from the EBMM Super Slinky's I've on the fretted Balls.

The strings that are packaged as Ernie Ball Flats are very good. On my 4 EBMM basses I use those as well as another brand that has lower tension.

I use flats and love them for specific occasions, since I use other than EB, I will not mention them here out of respect.

And in all honesty, I used TI Flats exclusively for a very, very long time. While some of my basses still have those (they last forever), I have found that the Group III EB Flats are every bit as good for my needs (and further my wish to be a 100 percent Company Man).

And as mentioned above, Ernie Ball is a string company so let's not stray too far afield.

Ive not heard of these Group III strings before.
I was thinking of putting some Chromes on my Ray34 soon but the EB strings sound interesting.
Can anyone give me an idea of the tension? Compared to Chromes or XL's maybe.

You'll find the tension of EB flats very similar to Chromes

Thanks for all the replys and suggestions. I understand that this an Ernie Ball forum and that discussing and suggesting using other companys products is frowned on. And in no way did I want anyone to do so. I basically wanted to know who used them and what kind of strings EB made for them. Please forgive me for not being clearer. I also wanted to know what kinds of experiences everyone has had with using flatwounds on a stingray. And from the response so far it seems a lot of people are happy with them

So from the looks of what was suggested here I plan on trying EB group III flats.

The Ernie Ball Flats are a good value, too. The TI's are spendy, and if you have not used them before the low tension might be a deal killer. It was for me.
