Last night my band (Spitfire) rehearsed a new version of a few AC/DC tracks. Everytime we play Highway to Hell, we get asked for more. So, we decided 'lets put a few togther in a medley!'.

So, now we have mixed Whole Lotta Rosie with Highway to Hell, and it sounds wicked!

Why this post?

The Ray H 3 EQ VS/Maple, with the treble rolled back from the centre, mids boosted a little and bass boosted a little, STRAIGHT into the PA, (as we rehearse in a tiny room) sounded massive. Especially when I hit the F...and this is just a 4 string bass. Very little treble click, more about lows and low mids, but with note defintion.

It was also excellent fun. I don't listen to AC/DC much, but I realise how great they are.

Whole Lotta Stingray indeed!

Excellent! "Shook me all night long" is also great fun. Its not very challenging but when you get deep into the pocket with everyone after doing nothing for most of the song its a hell of a lot of fun. I guess that is true for any AC/DC song. :D

My band does this one and it's always a crowd pleaser. I want to add "Touch Too Much" as well. :p

I play mostly AC/DC songs when I'm in the jamming mood. Honestly, most of the songs are straightforward; Cliff has some pretty cool fills here and there, but I'd definitely agree, that once you find the rhythm and can get in the "groove" of the song, everything comes together and just sounds fantastic! The timing of the rhythm section in AC/DC is impeccable; I think that's why they are often imitated and never replicated!

If you want to jam on some more "complex" AC/DC jams, might I recommend "Landslide" "If You Dare", "Meanstreak" and "Gimmie a Bullet"
