Me, that's who. This new Rolls Burgundy Bongo 5H I got from Doug has an incredible sound. Seems to have much higher output than my 4HH, too. I'm in love all over again! As nice as that Buttercreme SR4 was, this is home for me, folks. Thanks for the trade, Doug!

Sweet setup!

I use a Berg 310/F1X with my 2 band 'Ray. Good stuff...

And a Birdseye Maple Wal neck. The corresponding body to which is now on its way to Wilkins Guitar Finishes for a re-do. Funny that my EBMM basses have flawless finishes and setups that my $3,800 '03 Wal couldn't get close to. There's a point in there.

BTW, that Modulus was a wedding present from my wife on the day we were married. That is one SUPERB bass guitar.

Oh, and that's an Alembic F-1X with an NOS Mullard 12AX7 run through a Crown Micro-Tech 1200 and a Bergantino HT322 (2x10, 1x12). The last rig I'll ever own, surely.

Never say ever, you are just removing the N and that is a no-no! :D

I plan to die the day before my last rig arrives (via FedEX) at the house!

It's important to space out the arrivals of your "next" rigs or the wife may "ensure" the next one is your last one.

OK now I'm starting to see the real deal about brand loyalty:

"Not a new bass honey, I just had the body refinished to go with the new look for our band. See this picture of our band 2 yrs ago? same bass in blonde, right ?"

"Same old bass honey, just a new pickguard. Old one cracked and they don't make that color anymore".

"No, Hon, it just looks odd cuz I added an extra PU to play some newer styles."

"The dark brown fretboard wore out, the blonde was the cheaper replacement."

"Sure the body style looks strange and different. I had enough spare parts from some old experiments that by getting a spare body, I've got an extra bass now."

My wife's pretty cool about my bass/rig purchases...and the few times she does complain, I remind her of her expensive horse habit (the four-legged variety). :D

Hehe good plan.

Actually my wife doesn't mind my habbit either. She did raise her eyebrows when I told her I wanted the Blue Bongo to have a cherry colored sister with 5 strings and no frets. But I think they eyebrows went up at my lame attempt to fool her, not the fact that I'm going to get a new bass.

She hasn't heard about the practice amp I want yet though. :) I've got my gigging setup and it's really too heavy to be taking up and down the stairs in the house all the time... my spin will be this "think of all the dings that wont get put in the stairway walls!"

It's just fun to make out like she doesn't want me to buy the stuff.. makes it funner to get for some reason.

Yeah, that always kills me that my wife puts on that same act. Actually, she's more vocal about my selling or trading my basses off...go figure!

BTW, what practice amp are you looking at? I'm purchasing an Ashdown Perfect 10 (35w) to replace my Fender Bassman 25 in the next few days.
