Hey guys, I just acquired a SUB1 from a friend and I'm still wondering why such awesome guitar in it's own right discontinued.
Any enlightenment about this matter?

BTW here are some pics of my new pre-owned SUB1 (modified to Graphtech Stringsavers saddles and Stan Hinesley Viper PU's):

Has been discussed before, was mostly due to lack of revenue (I believe).

I too am saddened by this, I have never played a guitar that I love more than my teal SUB.

And uhh... if you ever want to sell that thing, let me know first :p

Thats a great looking Sub. I really love both of mine.

How do you like the graph tec saddles? I put some on one of my "other" guitars and it killed the sustain. Putting the original steel ones back on now.

No, it's because of the increasing cost till it's impossible to offer the Sub1 under $1k price tag.

BTW, beautiful Sub1.
Congrats.

Here's my sub

Thanks bro! Oh the graphtechs helps me a lot since i play every night. Mine works fine though. No problem with the sustain. The main reason i changed the saddles is because i play 4 sets of 1 hr on weekdays and 5 sets of 1 hr on weekends. Expect string popping with this.:(

I bought it on Ebay.
The original owner put the EMG85 in the bridge and the EMG60 in the neck. It's great for Metal. :)

Nice. I've seen quite a few nice subs around in the past few weeks. Tried to buy a couple off the bay myself, but I keep getting sniped.

Nah. It would have come in handy in a couple of instances over the past couple of weeks, but with my luck my snipe would be ridiculously more than I want to pay.

I'm a lousy eBay shopper. I bid what I'm willing to pay for an item and let it run. I don't have time to sit there and try to outbid someone in the last .25 seconds. I usually end up losing by five bucks or so.
