When I play my JP6 either using some vibrato or the bar the neck usually will make a tic sound. Why? and can I fix it? Its starting to piss me off.
My Axis doent do it just my JP6.
And I cant keep my JPs bar inplace. the screw is in as far as it can go and the bar will spin with little resistancs. Why?

I had the same ticking problem when using the bar, put a little nut sauce in and problem solved.
Does it go out of tune after you hear the tick?

Check the neck.. maybe you need to tighten a screw or two. My Y2D neck was a little loose when I first got it. Snugged the bolts and it was good to go.. just don't overtighten and crack the finish!

My second hand Morse did that (especially when I picked it up by the neck - not when i played it) - a quick tweak of the 5 screws and it has been good to go.

Hey Progdude,

Call customer service at the San Luis Obispo location (866) 82E-BALL or (866) 823-2255. See if anyone there can offer suggestions as to how to make the tic go away. You may need to send it back to the factory to have them take a look.

I used to get this with both the Luke and Axis....then I discovered it was the Quick Release Planet Waves strap making a ticking noise at the horn when I moved my arm to hit the bar!!! Doh....drove me mad until I realised :p

Both of my JP's do this. I've isolated it to the nut. Next time I change strings I'll lube it and it'll be fine. CHapstick can be used for nut lube. Use the clear one.:D
