I have been wondering for some time now why one cannot chose gold hardware as an option when ordering an EBMM instrument

Especially since it's available on various instruments like the 2008 LE, BFR's or the 2006 LE, to name a few.

Just curious (and I would really LOVE to be able to order a fully loaded Silo with GH :))

I think i've read that it comes down to demand.

More importantly - when is BLACK HARDWARE going to make it to the LEs (at least)?!!

There's already 100,000 options available for EBMM. I think that's what it boils down to.

Stop and think about it, between guitars and basses, there's what . . 17 models.
then you've got:

Fretboard (maple or rosewood), finish/color, matching or natural headstock, trem or hardtail, piezo or no, 4-5-6 strings, 6 or 7 strings, 25.5 scale or baritone.

When you consider all the different variations, the math makes my head hurt. Throwing in yet another option has to be a headache from a manufacturing process.

I agree that here are so many options already but it's just hard for me to understand why the offering of an additional hardware option would make the manufacturing process more complex?
I mean it's not like a different colour or something, and the gold hardware is already used on some instruments, that's mainly why I'm asking....!

When you have something already, why not make it available for the whole range then?

We like to use the gold for special pieces and limited runs. If we offered it as an option on everything all the time, it would make those that we've done with gold hardware less special, which isn't fair to those who have purchased the limited run models.

It'll be 20 more laps around the parade ground if you carry on like that m'lad.
Still off work ? ha!

You know you'll love it when I eventually get my LEAL suited and booted with it's SOLID GOLD Trem knob and pickup selector!!

It'll beat your leopard skin Lame codpiece any day of the week.

Talk is cheap and money buys Bourbon. Wait until the Baltic Amber codpiece pickguard is mounted up on the Buttercream dream!

I like it this way.
There are way too many choices as it is.

So how come platinum tuners aren't standard? I really like those.

Well I really dig my new Blue Dawn Luke with the chrome hardware... Not a fan of gold or black hardware either, or it must be the emerald green with gold hardware, which looks too cool:D

I wish black and gold were options as well.........but, I don't hold it against the company. They offer more options than any other maker I can think of and are consistently better at it. For realz, I'd rather have an EB with chrome hardware and have it play well than another brand guitar with gold hardware and have it play like garbage.

Someday I know they'll announce the Radrock 3000: A black matted Axis with black hardware, Chrome EVH pickups, chrome binding, and an ebony fretboard with no dots. When that day comes, I'll know I've died and made it to heaven. :D:D:D

Thanks for this information, Beth!

I will have to find a combination for a Silo then that suits my taste
without gold hardware

Still think you're a great company!!!

Keep rockin' y'all
