Why MM bass is produced with nickel strings (2834) ?

Why MM bass is produced with nickel strings (2834) ? Why not with stainless steel? Is it a sound of nickel string better than the sound of stainless steel?

Nickel strings are more common than stainless steel.

It's all about preference though. We make some stainless steel (2844) strings if you prefer them!

The sales are about ten to one if not more...we dont want to put a less popular string as an oem choice

I like the sound of nickel better, as do many other folks. I've also heard that stainless steel strings tend to wear out the frets sooner.

I have never used stainless steel ones on my basses. I do like the Ernie Ball Super Slinky's though that are made of Nickel. Since they have never given me issue, and I like the tones I get out of them, I continue to use them.
